project characteristics:
This is a striking, architectural backyard terrace setting, stepping out from a downstairs family room.  For our
clients’ new setting, we utilized a creative “broken edge” pattern throughout the layout of the terrace and adjoining walkways.  This staggered edge is both eye-appealing and creates planting pockets and nooks all along the edge of the paving.  Lawn mowing goes right over the top.  The family entertains regularly in the back terrace setting and has thrown group gatherings as large as 150 guests mingling on the terrace and surrounding naturalized gardens and small edge meadows.  The back yard setting overlooks sparkling Brenden Pond in Chanhassen, Minnesota where
the owners can fish or canoe.
